2021 is the year for new movies and I am happy that I finally saw The Suicide Squad. This movie was hilarious in a lot of random ways. There was a large amount of dark humor and great acting in this movie. The first thing that I want to say is that John Cena was hilarious and I don’t expect that. I am not the biggest John Cena fan but he did an amazing job in his role as Peacemaker. Now I don’t want to take anything from all the other artists in this production. Because everyone did an amazing job.
So let’s talk about what happened in this movie, the big bad for The Suicide Squad was Starro. Starro is a giant starfish from space that has psychic powers and uses a hive mind. I was excited to see Starro in this film. I have seen a tone of Justice League and other DC properties over the years and Starro always pops up. Although it is usually portrayed with more intelligence. That is not something that I am upset with because if Starro was more like his intelligent counterpart The Suicide Squad would have not been able to defeat it.
There is a lot to love about this film, when I think back on the experience all that I can remember is joy. When Peacemaker and Bloodsport enter the camp to save Rick Flag crazy and funny. When Harly Quine makes her escape it looks amazing. To be honest, when I think back on the film scene after scene enters my mind, I would end up recounting the entire film. I will be getting an opportunity to watch the spin-off HBO Max show Peacemaker when it finally comes to the end of the season so that I can binge-watch the entire season. I am all in with this thing that AT&T is doing with the DC Universe, I just hope that it can stay this good.
