The Spirit Chronicles is a new fantasy Isekai anime and Japanese light novel written by Yuri Kitayama and illustrated by Riv. It is a new anime that I just ran through, and I will say that I enjoyed it. The light novel is curtly ongoing and is up to 21 chapters, the show curtly has 12 episodes. So I was able to bing the first season rather quickly. Watching the first season leaves me wanting more. I am so happy that there will be a future with an upcoming season 2 and the light novel if I chose to go that route.
Our main character is Haruto Amakawa or Rio, as normal Isekai factional Haruto as a young man living in Japan is dies in a bus accident and is then reincarnated into the boy Rio in a new world. So it is your topical Isekai Fantasy but I still enjoy it. I will say that this category has taken over in the world of anime and this is a story that embodies the trope well.
From watching the first 12 episodes I am not left feeling that is the best to ever do it but there is a joy to be found. Go into it with an open mind and explore a new world. Will Rio becomes the MVP of his new world, will he be its hero, or will he retire in the countryside with his love interest. What is going to happen next, is what has drawn me in and hopefully, it will do the same for you.
